Getting everyone involved!

For wildlife and people, we believe that it's important to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy, value and help wildlife in their area.

Wildlife havens aren't just good for wildlife, but they are vitally important for people too. Many studies show that enjoying wildlife and nature around us helps us to relax, improves health and reduces stress in as little as a few minutes.

Climate change could make big changes to our lives. It will be even more important that we protect wild places for people to enjoy and help everyone to feel like that can make a difference.

As well as working to help individuals and businesses to reduce their emissions and have a bigger impact on climate change locally, The Wildlife Trusts are also providing opportunities for everyone to become involved in discovering, enjoying and actively protecting our wildlife.

Across the Eastern Region:

  • Events - Last year we held 4,000 wildlife events, including workshops, walks and family events, involving 134,000 people
  • Volunteering - We have gained 5,200 fantastic volunteers
  • Community and Education -Last year, we helped thousands of local children and young people to learn about wildlife from over 900 schools. We also worked with a whole range of community groups to give them the support they needed to enjoy wildlife, and develop their own wild places
  • Gaining support - We are incredibly grateful for the regular support of 113,000 members, as well as over 1,000 local businesses and organisations.
We aim to promote awareness and discussion in local schools, communities and businesses and will provide opportunities for every person to help wildlife and provide local solutions to the problem of climate change in our area.
