Solution Part 2. The Big Vision

The Wildlife Trusts are thinking big. We are working to create bigger and better connected wildlife areas across the whole of the UK and the Eastern Region. As part of this, we also believe in helping everyone in our area to value and support the amazing wildlife on their doorsteps.

Wildlife havens aren't just good for wildlife. They are vitally important for people too. Firstly, many studies show that enjoying the wildlife around us helps us to relax, improves health and reduces stress in as little as a few minutes.

Secondly, these wild places are key in helping to reduce the impacts of climate change on people. Wetlands and coastal saltmarshes are rich areas for fish and wading birds, but also help provide space for floodwater and prevent flooding from happening elsewhere. Coastal saltmarshes also reduce the erosive power of the sea, reducing the impact of a wave by up to 95%.

With your help, we can begin to tackle the global problem of climate change at a local level, helping wildlife and our landscapes adapt to changes, for the benefit of both people and wildlife.
